Hi I'm Judy, I'm 58 years old and I have been a Yo-Yo dieter since my early 20s after I had my two children.
At the beginning of the year, I decided that I needed to loose weight and get fit so I could be around to watch my two beautiful granddaughters grow up.
I started training in a local gym and hated walking on the treadmill and using the standard weights and machines, after 10 minutes I would become bored. The people were not at all friendly and no-one really wanted to give me any advice. After 6 months, I decided to leave and began walking along the beachfront where I live.
One Saturday morning while walking, I noticed a group of people training on the grass using all sorts of equipment, such as tires, large ropes, kettle bells, rope ladders. They looked like they were having fun as well as working out. I took a note of the phone number and after a couple of days, I rang Ali Fox, Turbulence Training. Ali was very friendly and knowledgeable and after I had explained about some injuries I had, she was able to give me training and exercises that suited my requirements.
When the 12 week challenge came up. I jumped at the chance to join. I had only been doing boot camp on Saturday mornings and I loved it so I chose to do 4 sessions a week.
Very quickly, I learnt to love the exercise I was doing, I was outdoors where I love to be, it was very hard to start with, I was so unfit. In the 4th week of the challenge I fractured my knee but with the help of my TT certified trainer and the support of all of the Foxes, I continued with training that excluded my injured knee but kept me on track.
I now feel more energetic, I have increased endurance and confidence and I have a much more positive attitude. I now say, I'll try instead of I can't and to my surprise, most of the time I can! Watching the foxes that have been successful in previous TT challenges come to train is awesome and truly inspiring. I have managed to reach all of the fitness goals I set for myself at the beginning of the challenge.
I now get up at 5.30 every morning and go for a walk and I hate it if I have to miss a TT session for any reason. I'm also sleeping much better and eating healthier. TT training is now a way of life for me and I look forward to the next challenge in January.
