Holy cow! I've started to see faint outlines of abs ... ok, I have to twist around when brushing my teeth or something, but they are starting to appear!
As a background, I was always been in "OK" shape, not obese, but definitely not ripped either. In fact, I've never seen my abs, not even in high school. My best guess is that I've been at 17-20% body fat for the past 25 years or so.
I'm 41 years old, and the father of twin boys (2 years old). At the start of this contest, on May 19, 2011, I was 214 lbs, with 19% body fat.
My biggest problem with fitness has always been a lack of time. I run my own business, so I don't have very much free time to work out and eat right, and my twin boys added a new layer of "busy" to my schedule. So, I definitely needed an efficient workout program -- luckily, I stumbled upon Turbulence Training, and it seems to be my solution. The rapid-fire exercises not only compress the time required to do a workout, it also seems to ramp up my fat burning.
I've made some good progress so far -- I've lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks, and am down to 14-15% body fat. My love-handles are definitely disappearing (hooray) and I have more energy throughout the day. All good news so far, love it.
Of course, there is always room for improvement. For me, that's my diet. It has already gone from "complete garbage" to "mostly on target" in the past 6 weeks of this contest. For the final 6 weeks, however, I'm looking to send my fitness into overdrive by remaining "healthy" on my diet. Nothing too crazy, just limit the desserts and chips.
I'm still shooting for abs like our friend, Craig Ballantyne... it's only a matter of time now.
