Kes Drops 12 Pounds And Beats Perimenopause with the Turbulence Training Lifestyle


Perimenopause hit me like a ton of bricks. No wonder they call it “The Change”! I started to get what I like to call The Thickening and it made me look matronly and old. I am only 5’2” so every pound showed.

In addition to the weight gain, I felt stiff and achy and sapped at the end of the day. I began to sleep poorly and wake tired. I have three jobs including a home-based business making historical jewelry, and I constantly run from one to the other. I didn’t have time for this!

My friends told me to just accept this as part of aging. Chicks my age had to put up with love handles along with the hot flashes, they said, but I just wasn’t ready to take this lying down. The Change wasn’t going to slow me down. It was time for me to make some changes of my own!

A friend told me about this neat site he had found on-line with health and nutrition tips. At first I was reluctant to try the Turbulence Training Program because it involved weight lifting. Like a lot of women I pretty much felt that I would grow a mustache or end up looking like Arnie if I so much as looked at a kettlebell!

I decided to give Training for Fat Loss a try and it was anything but intimidating. I didn’t need a lot of special equipment and The Program could not have been easier to fit into my hectic schedule. I gave Eat Stop Eat a try and stopped cheering myself up with food.

When I felt down or discouraged, I listened to Craig and Brad’s podcasts and read their blogs for inspiration and tips.

And the results! I was impressed! I lost a lot of ugly belly fat and inches off my waist and even my thighs. I got more into the weight lifting and I was hooked on trying to bump up my performance. I wasn’t getting bulky, I was getting toned!

Why had I thought of weight lifting as a boys’ club all these years? Not only did weight lifting not make me feel like breaking out the cigars and writing my name in the snow, my body was beginning to look more feminine than it had in a long time.

My co-workers commented on how toned and sexy my legs were getting and my husband was impressed with the new definition in my arms, back and shoulders. On our recent trip to Jamaica I picked up a new bikini (in a smaller size!) and felt proud to wear it.

Despite being on the wrong side of 45, I have never felt stronger or more energized, and it hasn’t hurt my love life either! I am trying new activities constantly and I even gave rock climbing a whirl while I was on holiday. Not bad for a middle-aged woman!

The best part of this Transformation Contest for me? I have proven to myself that I don’t need to settle for a matronly figure and slower pace of life just because I am now a “woman of a certain age”. Perimenopause, do your worst.

With Turbulence Training on my side, I feel like I can accomplish anything!
